Kanali Im is a second-in-command of sorts for The Pale Ones guard caste and therefore endures the most abuse from Lord Vireka of any other lion. He is a cold-hearted and sadistic lion, bullying anyone in a lower station than himself and even trying it on those of higher stations at times. He has a glaring ice blue gaze and is a tall and lean beast with ritual scars of his rank on his face. He is not a true white lion however as he has Chinchilllism, a variation of Leucism that causes his fur to have pale cream and silver highlights in certain lighting.

He first encounters Uhuru when she trespasses on their lands and he is quick to needle her, noting her armor, mask and general likeness to the storied lioness slated to overthrow the Pale Ones. He is then commanded to personally hunt and capture her, though he begs to not be forced to duel her as this would likely result in his loss of an ear and eye to her sharp claw gauntlets.
